Landlord Tenant Training November 17, 2017

North Shore Community Action Programs, Inc. (NSCAP), Northeast Legal Aid, Inc. (NLA) and the Northeast Justice Center (NJC) will be conducting a half-day training on basic landlord/tenant law. 

Date: November, 17, 2017
Time: 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The training will be held at the Northeast Housing Court, 2 Appleton Street, Lawrence, MA 01840. Complimentary lunch will be served.

The training will be presented by experts in landlord/tenant law, a Housing Specialist (mediator), the Tenancy Preservation Program clinicians, and the Assistant Clerk of the Court. We are honored to have a view from the bench presented by a Judge from the Northeast Housing Court.

The training and all materials (Legal Tactics: Tenants’ Rights in Massachusetts, Judge David D. Kerman’s Bench Memorandum, a hard copy of the PowerPoint presentation and additional materials provided by the trainers) are FREE in exchange for a commitment to volunteer at six Lawyer of the Day sessions in the Northeast Housing Court between now and November 17, 2018. Each Lawyer of the Day session lasts approximately four hours. 

Those not able to commit to volunteering at this time may attend the training and receive all materials at a cost of $250. See below for how to pay for the training and materials if that is your preference.

A three-evening seminar designed to give attorneys the fundamental skills they need to effectively represent divorce clients.  This comprehensive course will provide you with the substantive knowledge that you need to handle any divorce case.

For new attorneys who want to learn about divorce law or experienced practitioners who want a refresher course, this training is for you!!!

Family law judges and experienced family law attorneys will take you step-by-step through the divorce process.  You will learn what statutes, rules and laws govern divorce proceedings.  You will learn how to prepare and file your complaint, motions, contempts, pre-trial and much more.

The cost of this training is your commitment to take two family law cases from either MetroWest Legal Services or Northeast Legal Aid within the next year.  (Only one case given out at a time.)  Use of office space, computers, mentors and other perks available to all Pro Bono Volunteers!!!
