Statement on Asian-American Violence

Given the recent reports in the United States of an increasing number of racist and xenophobic incidents of harassment and violence against Asians, Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders, Northeast Legal Aid would like all such communities in its service area to know that Northeast Legal Aid is here to stand with them and support them. Northeast Legal Aid will do all it can to oppose such iniquitous behavior. Please contact Northeast Legal Aid if you believe you are a victim of discrimination or other injustice.

Racial Justice Statement

Northeast Legal Aid and its affiliate, Northeast Justice Center, recognize the racial and economic inequities facing communities of color. We are committed to advancing equal justice for all, including black, brown, indigenous and people of color, who have been historically underserved, underrepresented, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent inequality and poverty. We pursue these goals through our direct legal representation of clients before courts and administrative tribunals, through community engagement and education, and through our systemic advocacy on issues of racial justice and public benefits, which has an impactful benefit on large groups of marginalized communities.

We welcome our clients to report racial injustice to us so that we may continue to fight racial inequity together.

The Cummings Foundation has awarded NLA with a $100,000 grant to help fund our medical-legal partnership.
