The Family Law Unit at Northeast Legal Aid provides legal assistance to domestic violence victims and other vulnerable individuals, including representation in restraining order (209A), divorce, paternity, custody and visitation, child support, and other family law cases in the Probate and Family and District Courts.  

Without a safe and financially secure family unit, it is difficult for families to maintain good health, stable housing and consistent employment. Where children are involved, family safety and security are essential for growth and development.

Northeast Legal Aid focuses its family law work on cases involving domestic violence, providing representation in divorce actions, custody and support disputes between married and unmarried parents and also helps with restraining orders.
