Courtney Pitta joined NLA in November of 2016 as a Staff Attorney in the Housing Unit where she represented tenants facing eviction in the Northeast Housing Court. She also represented tenants at Section 8 termination hearings and other administrative hearings related to the loss or denial of subsidized housing.  Courtney acted as an AmeriCorps Supervisor from 2017-2020 and an Access to Justice Fellowship Supervisor from 2020-2022. In 2022, she was appointed to the statewide Supreme Judicial Court Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services. Prior to joining NLA, Courtney practiced in western and central Massachusetts as a Staff Attorney in the Housing Unit at Community Legal Aid and the Central West Justice Center. Courtney is co-chair of NLA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She is a graduate of Ithaca College (2009) and Suffolk University Law School (2013).
